Michigan Harp and Bowl Connections

IN THIS SECTION:

A. Transforming Michigan Through "Praise, Prayer & Worship!

(Harp and Bowl – Rebuilding the Tabernacle of David)

We are able to speak and sing life giving words over our families; churches; state; and nation. There is a power in singing and praying God’s Word! The Bible speaks of a "Harp and a Bowl". "Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,10 And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth." [Rev 5:8-11]

Another aspect is the rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David where singers, musicians, and intercessors come together "as one" in praise, worship and prayer. The prayers of the saints intermingled with praise and worship of God acts as an incense that is pleasing to God.

"After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up; 17 So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the LORD who does all these things." [Acts 15:16-18]

Each county in our state is a part of this rebuilding process. We are in a time of favor and blessing where God is allowing us to connect in new ways. He is giving us new relational connections and having us revisit and rebuild old ones. Ministries, churches, pastors, intercessors, singers, musicians are networking together.

God is the author of sound, music and song. He inspires people as it resonates with our spiritual DNA through hymns of old; contemporary and the spontaneous new song. God uses many formats and music forms as we look worldwide. We must lay down our divisions in this area and embrace each other as we are moved to sing praises and thanksgiving unto Him. The life giving Word can be proclaimed over our state. This is one of the purposes of Transformation Michigan – to change the spiritual atmosphere over our state.

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." [Proverbs 18:21]

Our prayers will rise to heaven as incense and a bowl in heaven is filled which will spill over onto the earth. A town, city or nation can be transformed in a moments notice because God literally shows up. Our praise/prayer/worship can join heavens courtroom instantly as we turn our hearts towards Him. It is intimacy and relationship with God that we yearn for. The heavens are open to feel and be touched by the "Father Heart of God" and His loving intimacy.

B. DEFINING IHOP (International House of Prayer)

I - Stands for INTERCESSION.

We will join together, within our diversity, in corporate intercessory prayer, praise, and worship. We are obeying our Lord’s prophetic directive to be a house of prayer for all nations (Matthew 21:13, Isaiah 56:7, John 17:21-23, Psalm 133).

H - Stands for HOLINESS.

Holiness to a Christian is a natural response to experiencing the love of God and His delight in us. He is the God that makes us Holy through His grace and restoring power! His call to be the spotless Bride of Christ is one we must answer in these last days of this age (Romans 12:1, I Peter 1:14-16, Ephesians 5:27).

O - Stands for OFFERINGS.

The gospel is embodied in the 2 greatest commandments, to love God, and our fellow man. We are to present ourselves as a living sacrifice to God and give loving service to the poor, widowed, and orphaned. True religion and true service to God means loving God and serving the ones that Jesus served. "as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to me" (Matthew 22:36-40, Romans 12:1-3, James 1:27, Matthew 25:40).

P – Stands for PROPHETIC

We acknowledge the testimony of Jesus Christ as the true spirit of prophecy and submit ourselves to the written word of God as His testimony. We invite and embrace the manifestations of the Holy Spirit and we earnestly desire spiritual gifts, especially that we would prophecy
(Revelation 19:10, I Corinthians 14:1, Numbers 11:29).

C. IHOP PERSPECTIVES!

(Adopted from Lansing IHOP Values Statement)

WE VALUE:
*The active pursuit of personal and corporate intimacy with God through extravagant devotion, prayer, worship and a simplified lifestyle. (Psalm 27:4)
*A posture for our public gatherings that creates a resting place for God, a geographic place and environment where He is manifestly present. This posture includes combining worship and intercession (Revelations 5:8), praying in the Spirit and spontaneous singing (I Corinthians 14:14-15), and cultivating a prophetic spirit on the musicians (I Chronicles 25:1-5), singers and intercessors.
*The development of 24/7 unified worship and prayer, believing the prophetic promise of Jesus that His church will function as a house of prayer. (Matthew 21:13)
*Harmony with other believers in the ministry of prayer, so we emphasize the use of Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16), especially the recorded prayers of the Scriptures, as a framework from which to pray (Psalm 107:20).
*Intercession to change the spiritual atmosphere of Michigan (connecting 83 counties in day and night 24/7 prayer); bringing about transformation, renewal of the church, salvation of the lost, establish a prayer protective shield, and impacting all cultural gateways (Isaiah 62:2-7, 1 Thessalonians 5:17).
*A strategy for spiritual warfare that releases the power of God rather than focusing on the power of the enemy (Ephesians 6).
*The revelation of the end time judgments of God because it was in this context (Luke 17:22-37) that Jesus called His people to night and day prayer for the release of "speedy" justice in the earth (Luke 18:1-8).
*Evangelism, world missions and serving the poor. We desire to participate with the Holy Spirit in a global prayer strategy that will result in an unprecedented harvest of souls before the Lord returns (Matthew 28:18-20).

D. WHAT ARE IHOP WORSHIP LEADERS IN MICHIGAN SAYING

Blazing Altars
Persistent United Prayer, Praise, & Worship
By Hal Leath © 2006

Have you ever wondered why the Church in your region lacks the glory, the signs and wonders, the fiery zeal, and the boldness of the New Testament? I sure have! Unless we admit, confess, and repent of our lukewarmness, how can we go forward? We must stop making excuses and start looking at solutions. I believe that the biblical foundation for true revival is the only solution: persistent united prayer, praise and worship!

The command given in Leviticus 6:12a is eye opening indeed! And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. Why did the Lord require a persistent fire on the altar? I believe that part of the answer is that He was pointing to the eternal truth of the blazing altar in the heavens. We are certain of what the writer of Hebrews declares, "We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man." And "there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things… " So if the copy and shadow of the true tabernacle in heaven had a persistent fire, how much more the real?

Let us look at another snapshot of heaven. Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song…(Rev 5:8+9a). Awesome indeed! Understand first that these four living creatures have a persistent night and day ministry forever! Harps are musical. Add to this recipe unity because they join the 24 elders by bowing down in worship. The incense is prayer. Then the heavenly recipe adds singing, or praise!

This is the recipe that brings the fullness of His Presence. The Lord taught us to pray "Thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven." When we use this glorious pattern in Revelation Chapter 5, His will is being done on Earth as it is in heaven! I can think of no greater way to provide a landing strip for God’s Holy Presence. When you read the Psalms you find many different types of prayers, praise, and worship. Most of these Psalms were birthed during the glorious golden age of the Davidic Kingdom. David had set up a persistent united prayer, praise and worship environment. He started it in a tent, and it continued in the temple after Solomon built it according to God’s plan. David used the Levitical musicians and singers for this majestic triumphant worship. How much more glorious will this be as we enter into this dynamic after the order of Melchizedek. We are all a royal priesthood and we are after the order of Melchizedek.

So gather together some musicians, intercessors, and singers. Come together in unity before the Throne of God on a persistent basis and you can change the atmosphere over your region. Remember that the Lord has started many different harp & bowl groups all over the planet. Join this great chorus right away. He is coming back for a glorious Bride indeed. Let us ignite our BLAZING ALTERS at once!
