"Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time," (1 Timothy 2:1-6) Dear Pastor/Prayer Leader/Intercessor, We desire to meet the prayer needs of those who are in authority over us. These are men and women who have been positioned to advance the Kingdom of God in the places they occupy whether in the church, government, media, business, family, arts or educational system. It is a good thing to get behind them and support them in unified one accord prayer. We will also be posting national calls for prayer when possible from such individuals as Lou Engle (The Call) and other national prayer leaders. This section will be updated on a bi-monthly basis. We are in process of connecting with leaders across our state to contribute insights that affect all of us – especially here in Michigan. God Bless, Rick – Transformation Michigan Facilitator PRAYER REQUEST FROM STATE REPRESENTATIVE FULTON SHEENWhere Is Michigan at and Where Should We Go As we begin March of 2008, we still have a budget deficit. We have the third highest mortgage default rate in the nation, our unemployment rate is 7.6% compared to the national average of 4.6%, 90,000 people left last year and more are planning to do so. Businesses are making decisions on whether to move out of state or stay in business, because of the poor economy, and the increased tax burden of the new MBT plan. It is an election year, so the political games and posturing will probably increase not decrease. Things are poised to get worse, not better, and only prayer and God’s intervention can fix Michigan. Maybe that is exactly where He wants us, with no other options, but Him. So how do we pray and what do we pray for?
PRAYER REQUEST FOR GOVERNOR GRANHOLMWe must lift up Governor Granholm in prayer. The task she has to lead Michigan in the present economic time is a difficult one to say the least. We must stop all criticism and accusation and pray for those in authority over us. The state of Michigan can be changed with leadership that is God directed with a strategy from heaven. This is not only a republican or democrat challenge, but we must come together in unity in our diversity. We the church can bring the commanded blessing to our state through prayer and fasting. Pray for our Governor: Pray that she would have wisdom and understanding to lead our state. Pray that she would receive the strategy to take MI out of the economic recession we are experiencing. Pray she would be able to attract new technology, businesses, and jobs. Pray that she would see that righteousness exalts a nation or state – Proverbs 14:34. Pray that the Governor would call a day of fasting and prayer in Michigan to connect 83 counties in our state. This would be an official proclamation. Pray that the Governors family is safe and in good health. Pray that a spirit of unity would come over the house, senate and governor’s office where the residents of Michigan would benefit. PRAYER REQUEST FROM JAMES MUFFETT – CTV(Citizens for Traditional Values) Leaders Pray for our conservative pro-life and pro-family legislators to have wisdom, unity, God's strength and favor. 2008 Elections Pray for the Michigan Supreme Court race. The Supreme Court is currently divided 4-3 on many critical issues. The outcome of this race could tip the scales against us. Pray for the 110 Michigan State House seats up this fall. The elected majority, whether liberal or conservative, will determine whether a traditional and conservative pro-family agenda will find favor. Pray for the many ballot initiatives that will be decided. Among the important issues are whether Michigan will legalize embryonic stem cell research and marijuana for medical purposes. God's People And finally, pray for the churches. The hope of Michigan is in God and it depends on His people to be responsible Christian citizens. Pray for an awakening in the Christian community that produces a revival of Godly ideas, passion, vision and conviction—that we are called to be stewards of His earth while we have breath, and that Christians will be educated voters who take an active role in electing Godly men and women into office "Some men see things and ask why, and others dream things that never were, and ask why not." George Bernard Shaw Amy J. Hawkins -Executive Director - Citizens for Traditional Values 3721 W. Michigan -Lansing MI 48917 517.321.1390, - www.ctvmichigan.org The Mercy Seat - April 26, 2008 A Nationwide Silent Siege on Passover LOU ENGLE and THE CALL In 2008, America finds herself in a place similar to that of 1860...a nation laden with the guilt of her innocent dead. In the 1860's, the issue was slavery. Today, we bear the guilt of 50 million unborn babies. The heart of the Lord is every bit as moved today as it was then. Abraham Lincoln, speaking at his second inaugural address, drew a direct connection between the heart of God and the Civil War... "Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue . . . until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said "the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether." America is facing a dire crisis. If 600,000 men died in the battlefields of the Civil War--both North and South, black and white--for the shed blood of the slaves, then what will it mean to America--black and white and North and South--if God brings a day of reckoning for the shed blood of 50 million babies? In the twilight hours before God's most severe judgment on Egypt, the blood of the lamb applied to the doorpost caused judgment to "pass over" that home. Jesus is our Passover Lamb, and it is His blood that must be applied without delay to the doorposts of our national guilt. During this season of Passover, will you join us as we cry for mercy for our nation? On Saturday, April 26th Bound4LIFE and The Call will be mobilizing Christians to gather at supreme courts in all 50 states along with the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, DC. Would you answer this urgent call to prayer and join with thousands across the nation on this day when we will be holding a simultaneous Silent Siege of every Supreme Court? Coinciding with Passover, the purpose of this day will be to stand in silent prayer before the doors of our justice system and plead the blood of Jesus. We urge you to make the journey either to Washington, DC or to the supreme court in your own state. For more information, court locations and to REGISTER go to www.Bound4LIFE.com. Download and circulate the FREE MP3 "Nothing But the Blood" I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it. (Ez 22:30) The Call on the Mall in Washington DC - August 16, 2008 – For the Fall Election!Lou Engle: President of TheCall contact | louengle@thecall.com | TheCall Dear Pastors/Intercessors/ and Prayer Leaders, Most of you know the history of "The Call" where hundreds of thousands have gathered to fast and prayer for America over the last 8 years. Many of you have stood with me with incredible encouragement, sacrifice, and mobilization. I am so grateful. Last year on 7-7-07 over 70,000 gathered to cry out to God at LP Field in Nashville – out of which has spawned prayer initiatives in local churches, in cities, and universities across the land. In fact, wherever we go, adoption movements are taking place as people were so moved in Nashville by the call to turn our hearts to the children and to see the ending of abortion. I knew in my heart that Nashville was not the final stop. Even then, burning in my heart was to return to our nation’s capital for The Call DC II this year. Brothers and sisters, we are in a crisis where the moral foundations of a nation are crumbling, but I have a great hope that this present throbbing moment could be the backdrop to the church’s finest hour and I feel compelled to mobilize massive fasting and prayer again. Joel 2 describes a landscape of total devastation and national destruction but in the midst of the devastation God calls His people to drop their denominational, racial, and doctrinal differences to gather together in collective, united fasting and prayer with the promise, or at least, the possibility of complete restoration and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. I believe that we are in a Joel 2 moment now. One Call, in two locations, August 2nd in Qualcom Stadium in San Diego, and The Call DC on the Mall on August 16th. For America, Lou Engle |
