Purpose:

Create an apostolic training center that equips the Body of Christ with not just knowledge but practical hands on skills to use to advance the Kingdom of God in the marketplace.

Conferences, training seminars, church meetings, and encounters with the Lord bring teaching. As important as teaching is, training is another level. Teaching is designed to give information, while training is designed to give activation. The Body of Christ has lots of information but very little activation. To advance the Kingdom of God there must be the practical out-working of the bride "doing" the work.

Trainers:

The Lord spoke to me in a vision a few days after discussing a training center in Grand Rapids with Todd Bentley. Jesus, at the age of 12, instructed the scribes and Jewish leaders. The long story short is that the Holy Spirit asked me why Jesus was able to be an instructor at such a young age. The answer was NOT that he was the Son of God, but rather that He had been with the Father. Intimacy with the Father and other prophetic experiences that cross into the heavenly realms bring knowledge, wisdom, creativity, and learning that go beyond one’s years in the natural. Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors and Teachers do not have be over 30 years of age. They can start as children. The goal of this training center will be to have young people, youth, and the 20-somethings age group to become the equippers at the center. If the prophets have referred to Todd Bentley as a "first-fruits" of the next generation, then there should be thousands of young people, just like Todd, emerging on the scene. While there are certainly some emerging out of the various schools of ministry around North America, I have not seen a generation of signs and wonders breaking forth. The goal of having the young people do the training will give opportunity to them to launch out. Faith requires action before provision. If we have the young as trainers, then God can pour out upon them. Let’s position our youth to become wineskins, rather than teach them for decades before they can be released. All trainers will need a pastoral recommendation, and if under age 18, parental or legal guardian permission to participate. This does not limit those who are over 30 from being trainers; however the Bible is clear there are many teachers but not many fathers, so the most important role to play for the older person will be one of a spiritual parent.

We intend to draw from area churches to capture those looking for an opportunity to minister through the equipping gifts. We also intend to invite international itinerant ministers to come for special classes, events, seminars and conferences to equip all who attend whether they are the equippers or those doing the work of ministry. There are excellent schools of ministry that are now occurring, like MorningStar, Bethel’s school of ministry, Fresh Fire’s school of ministry, Randy Clark’s school of the supernatural, and IHOP’s school. Many of these students graduate in their early 20’s, but may not be ready to launch out to create a new ministry. These would be great folks to recruit to Grand Rapids to become trainers within a model that focuses on the younger person teaching just as Jesus did in Jerusalem at age 12. This would also provide a place for these people to be yoked with a spiritual father/mother. This training center is not to be another Bible school or seminary, but rather a place anyone can come to be equipped for a weekend, week, month or semester, so that they may immediately apply what they have learned at work, home, in the neighborhood or at the grocery store.

Oversight will be critical for young trainers to have as they equip others. Every trainer will be assigned a spiritual father or mother to meet with them weekly (based on gender). While insight and revelation can come at any age, maturity is often not found in the heavens, but through trials, life experience, and time. Knowledge is learning from your own mistakes and wisdom is learning from other people’s mistakes. With that said, each young person will have a mature person mentoring and guiding them in the living of life. This may also be a place of further equipping. An 18 year old trainer may have incredible insight from heaven, but lack the skills to communicate that to a broad audience. With their spiritual parent present to help and guide the meeting it gives the young trainer the opportunity to flourish and be used by God now. It also provides the necessary protection of another person. Paul had Timothy’s and Barnabas’. In some cases the mentor will be a Paul to a trainer who is a Timothy. Sometimes the maturity and spiritual giftedness will be close and it will be more of a Barnabas and Paul-type relationship.

Class Structure:

The goal is to start the training center following Todd Bentley’s Healing, Miracles, Signs and Wonders School that will be held in Grand Rapids on August 13-16, 2008. We will use this as the kick-off to classes. By then we hope to have a dozen trainers and a dozen spiritual parents paired with the trainers so that we can begin 3 days per week of classes each week. The goal is to grow it to 5 days per week, but we will need many more volunteers to avoid burn out. Some may spend more time at the mall "doing" ministry than in the classroom. Others may be making use of satellite feeds of other classes from other schools. Yet others may be using a sanctuary because of a large crowd or an outside speaker. It will be a casual setting that encourages learning AND doing the greater works that Jesus spoke about.

Certification:

This training center is not focused on accreditation or government recognition. This is for the Kingdom. With that being said there may be some form of certificate for completion of classes AND ministry that occurs from something that has been learned. Too many Christians get more head knowledge that they fail to use. Therefore, if the class has to do with the word of knowledge there would be a requirement to then give 15 strangers a word of knowledge on audio tape where the person receiving the word then verifies that they received the word and grades its accuracy. If the course deals with healing, then the trainee would have to go out and heal 5 people with documentation. This would require follow up and staying with the person who was healed. (Sounds like a discipleship opportunity.) If the class focuses on miracles, signs and wonders, a certificate will be given to those who not only complete the class but also successfully raise the dead in the next 3 months or accomplish other documented miracles. (If at this time you think the bar is being set to high, it is time to get over it, literally. We must go beyond what we think we can accomplish in Christ and do the things that Christ actually did.) Each class completed with its outside assignment will then have a certificate issued.

Getting Started:

It is important to wait on the Lord in order to get His outpouring, anointing, and revival. In order to get the training center open, there must be a time of waiting on the Lord. Waiting does not mean to wait to do something, but rather to wait as in an ambush to spring upon something or someone. We must wait as in an ambush to jump when the Lord passes by. Moses waited on the Lord in the cleft of the rock. He did not wait in the basement hoping to be used by God. If we are to have a Supernatural Training Center, there must be a waiting and plowing of ground in prayer. Starting January 25, 2008 I would like to meet at 8:00 PM until midnight (or thereafter) two Friday’s per month to worship, wait, listen, and pray the Supernatural Training Center into existence. (Location to be determined, if interested send an email to info@hr4him.com) Worship could be live or CD. We will meet the 2nd and 4th Fridays from 8 PM to midnight so as to not conflict with Healing Rooms of Grand Rapids training on the 3rd weekend. These Prayer Watches would be open to anyone interested in seeing the Supernatural Training Center come to pass. "Words" received would be collected in a binder so that revelation, creativity, and ideas that come out of these times could be incorporated into the training center.

The prayer watches and invitations to become equippers (trainers) would come from a variety of networks so that this new training center would be for the greater church, not owned by a local church or denomination. Invitations to outside schools with graduates who would like to train can also be extended.
